10,000 Steps
It is recommended that we take 10,000 steps per day. Did you know that? I've been using my pedometer lately to keep track. When I'm able to take a walk at lunchtime during the week or I fit in a weekend walk I can hit the goal, but most days I do not. It goes to show that it really takes an effort to hit that many steps each day! Something to think about...

The Playhouse
My parents have done a great job of maintaining the playhouse in their backyard. My Grandpa Welker built for my sister and me a long, long time ago. Obviously, there was a big incentive to get the playhouse back into tip top shape! Morgan and Piper! Piper isn't quite big enough to play inside, but Morgan spent lots of time in the playhouse. Here are some cute shots from their Summer visit to Gram and Grampa B's house.

Arriving... from Spokane.
My sister Meg, brother-in-law David, and their girls Morgan and Piper came for a visit in August! We had two enjoyable long weekends with them (they spent the middle of the week with David's family in Twain Harte). It was fun to hop in my car and drive to the East Bay to play with the girls at my parents house. Meg and I even got out for some fro-yo and window shopping. : ) Here are some photos from their visit.

Head Over Heels
Lately, I've been getting excited about shoes. Why, you ask? Finally (finally) my knee seems to be handling shoes with a little height so much better. Yay! Don't get me wrong, I'm not an every-day-high-heel-wearing kind of girl, but I've certainly been missing a little variety over the last year or so. Flats can be kind of blah when you wear them day after day... after day. In the early days after my surgery, I would even wear sneakers to the office. I felt like such a slob! The priority was my knee healing so I sucked it up and just wore what was comfortable.
Now that I can choose to wear heels if I want to, there are lots of new possibilities for my twinkle toes! Shoes don't need to be super expensive either, by the way. This is a photo of my new Old Navy sandals I bought last month. Aren't they cute? Quite comfy too. Three cheers for Summer sandals! Hooray, hooray, hooray!
