You may be wondering, how am I doing with my walking? I have to admit, it hasn't been a priority lately. Why? One reason is that just as I'm making progress with increasing my walking, I travel somewhere and my knee is more sensitive than usual. It's really hard to stay consistent with walking when my knee reacts somewhat to sitting on a plane or chasing my niece around the kitchen. Another reason is that I am scared. I figure it's only a matter of time before my knee flares up and I'm back to resting and icing. My mind is in a decent place these days and I don't want to be disappointed and frustrated anytime soon. I suppose this is kind of a negative viewpoint, but if you were in my shoes the last 4 years, you would understand.
That said, I'm trying. Very slowly, mind you. I'm up to 3/4 of a mile every other day and am considering upping it to 1 mile in the next few weeks. It is 1 mile every other day that Dr. Dye says I need to hit before I contact him and he starts me on some "light jogging." Over the last month or so, I've also carefully tried to take some stairs here and there to begin building up the muscles around my knee. My knee seems to be taking the extra weight better and better. While I'm not going to be huffing and puffing up the Lyon Street stairs anytime soon (if ever) I feel as if I'm making some progress. Out of curiosity, I've even tried to jog a few steps at a time. There is no pain and my knee doesn't give way under me as it has in the past. Of course, I always keep in mind that even if I don't feel pain right away, there may be delayed aches the next day. Still, I am grateful I haven't had any significant set backs lately and my knee seems to be making more exponential improvement. I'm sure that is what is hoped for at more than a year out from the synovectomy. As always patience, and more patience.

100K
It took over 10 years (should I admit my car is over 10 years old?), but my Jeep just hit 100,000 miles this weekend! Did I feel the value of my car depreciate even more at that point, yes, but it didn't matter. It's still a car over 10 years old! My Jeep has had it's issues from time to time, but it's running fine these days. Besides, I'm not excited about the idea of a car payment so for now, it continues to be a keeper. Go Jeep!

Piper and Her Blocks
Piper just loved the blocks her Mommy gave her for Easter! I took this video when I had some time with Piper when Morgan went for a short walk outside with her parents. I'm still learning how to take the videos with my digital camera so bear with me, it's very amateur videography. I never seem to remember how much the video picks up my own chuckles and comments behind the camera... oh well. I hope it's entertaining for you!

Easter Goodies in Spokane
Morgan and Piper were knee-deep in goodies on Easter morning! Morgan was sure to think it was Christmas all over again, in pastel colors of course. ; ) It was such a treat to see her little face light up when the got to the bottom of the stairs and saw all of the Easter treats on the table that morning (7:00 AM mind you). It was only a few minutes into checking out the loot that Morgan saw a plastic blue Easter egg hidden on the shelf under the TV. Meg had hidden eggs all over the living room since the Easter weather was not pleasant to embark on a backyard Easter egg hunt. When Morgan ran over and grabbed the egg, we all exclaimed, "Yay!" Each time she found another egg she let loose a loud, "Yay!" So cute. While Piper is only 7 months old she seemed quite content with the pretty colored squishy blocks her Mommy got for her. She played with them the rest of the weekend.
Here is the morning in pictures:

Oooh, what is all this? Mommy and Aunt Ali may have gone a little overboard...
Yay!
I love my blocks. What else did I get?
Morgan's first jelly bean. It was green and she chewed it really slowly.

A "Sweet" Weekend in Spokane
I've been terrible about blogging lately! There are about 4-5 blog posts that have been started and are saved as "drafts." Sigh... I've been so busy (or just can't think anymore after a long day at work) that I have yet to complete and post them.
While I play catch-up... here is a video I took during Easter weekend in Spokane to entertain you. ; ) I'm sorry it is so dark at the beginning, I'm still learning how to record videos on my digital camera. The light gets better about half way through. This is the first time I used iMovie on my computer. Let me know what you think!
Aren't Morgan's cheek kisses so sweet?

Girl's Night Out
During Easter Weekend in Spokane, my sister Meg and I had a chance for a girl's night out. We decided to stay close to her home and drive just a few miles away to a restaurant called Max. It was so good! When we've had a chance for girl's night in the past, we prefer to order 2 or 3 appetizers to share and usually partake in a drink or two. This night included one martini each and three delicious appies. We were so impressed with the presentation of the food that we had to take photos. So yummy!
